This was a beautifully illustrated book about friendship and what it means to trust others. I’ve given it to my 11yo to read and I’ll give it to my 8yo after that.
Moderate: Bullying and Confinement

This is a story about a group of boys who decide to follow the autumn lanterns and never turn back.
As it turns out, it starts turning out quite differently quite near the beginning of the story.
I had this book on my bedside table for months, reluctant to undertake it because I thought it was about boys and gangishness, and possibly creepy, and I couldn't have been more wrong!
It's a book about friendship, and moments of difficulty, and finding adventure and letting imagination run wild.

Tw there's definitely a creepy vibe with some of the characters in the story.
