This was such a fun read! I am glad and honoured to be able to read this before it officially hits the market. Funny, quirky and relatable. Some bits were a little predictable, which made it not so exciting, but in the end, I certainly did enjoy it!

I don't like totally slamming any book but damn.

The beginning was cringeworthy to start. There was a bunch more too;
A horridly cliche plot and what has to be one of the most boring books I have read in a long time. It seemed like the author was constantly trying to relate to today's teenagers but failing on an epic level.

Shakespeare is spinning in his grave, knowing his work is being used as a pathetic plot device for a money-grabbing novel aimed at teens.

* I received a paperback ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. *

I got exactly what I expected from this story. Light-hearted fluff. But, having said that, I do wish it would have been a little more enjoyable.

Emily is in love with Wes. He's the perfect guy, blah blah blah. And those blahs aren't just me filling gaps. She literally loses the ability to function in front of this guy—a plot device I absolutely loathe. It makes the female come across weak. And sadly, Emily was just that. She also reads far younger than a junior in high school. If I didn't know better, I'd have pegged her voice as that of a middle schooler.

And Wes? I don't really know much about him. Nothing beyond how hot he is and amazing, anyway. He could've used more development (as could all the characters, if I'm behind honest).

The story itself is decent. Readable. I didn't think this was going to be the next great literary tale, but I did hope for something I'd really enjoy. And I liked this well enough, but not enough to beg all my friends to pick it up. I'm sure most people will be able to enjoy it for what it is!

I cringed. I cringed so hard. I couldn't finish this book. The second-hand embarrassment felt like freaking first-hand embarrassment. I died. Emily was OBSESSED with Wes. And when she did the whole phone-in-the-sleeve thing...Ugh. It was totally obvious that something was going to go wrong. I skipped ahead (I know, bad of me, but it was SO CRINGEY!) and saw that she liked some picture with his younger brother. Then I was like, "I have to stop reading this." Now, a week or so after picking it up, I say "I tried. Now I'm done. Bye bye, book." Sad but true.

My end consensus: If you catch second-hand embarrassment easily, STAY AWAY!!!

It was ok... I didn't adore this book like I did with many others but I felt that it was a very typical feel good read. Yet I can't say it was the best written... Of course, this is coming from a person who just read Geekerella, so my expectations were kinda high the first place. I loved the concept though, how it all revolved around a play and all the super cute and mushy scenes. The ending, oh gosh, being a true introvert I cringed so much at it. Not that it was a bad ending, just that it seemed so embarrassing even to me, the reader. I guess I'm just not much a grand gesture person... Nonetheless, this book did make me feel lighter and fluffier after I read it. A very typical feel good read.

Barely didn't give it one-star because I felt bad because it probably wasn't aimed at my kinda readers and there were a few scenes I found mildly amusing.

This was a cute, light contemporary read. I'd liken it to a Disney Channel Original Movie - fun with lots of heart and a happy ending.
