J'ai trouvé ce deuxième roman mettant en scène Rouletabille moins passionnant que le premier. Pourtant c'est une suite du précédent. Je connaissais donc les protagonistes, la base de l'histoire et je devais savoir à quoi m'attendre, plus ou moins. Mais j'ai éprouvé plus de difficultés à rentrer dans l'histoire et intégrer les différents éléments qui la compose.
Ce n'est que sur la fin, les derniers chapitres que mon intérêt a été réellement éveillé.

Cela reste malgré tout une histoire intéressante et bien menée et qui là ouvre des perspectives bien différentes.

É fácil compreender como uma geração alimentada a doses semanais de centenas de conteúdos policiais, desde série a livros, passando por filmes, seja um pouco mais difícil de contentar do que as anteriores, contudo, isso não significa que devamos perdoar tudo às narrativas antigas. Muito pelo contrário, fazê-lo seria desvalorizar os autores que realmente merecem reconhecimento. Sim, seria mais fácil encontrar um ideia original no início do século passado quando Gaston Leroux escreveu esta obra, numa altura em alguns das noções nela utilizadas ainda não tinha sido muito exploradas, todavia, isso não o desculpa, pois outro trabalharam no mesmo contexto com resultados superiores.

Como peça de teatro, esta história poderia ter sido interessante, mas como livro é apenas mediana, na melhor das hipóteses. O único valor que lhe reconheço foi o esforço, bem conseguido, de manter o leitor informado sobre os eventos do volume anterior, sem prejudicar a fluidez da narrativa.

Daba mil vueltas sobre pensamientos de Sinclair sobre lo que creía que iba a pasar en lugar de ir a los hechos en sí, lo interesante.

I'm over this series. I really liked Rouletabille in the first book but learning more of his back story made him less interesting. Also, the contrivances just piled up to a silly extent and it did that annoying Sherlock Holmes type thing where nothing is explained until a big info dump at the end.

The villain was overly cartoonish MAJOR SPOILER

I don't care how much of a 'Master of Disguise' he was, he would not have been able to impersonate someone and fool his wife, father in law and friends

and the new characters were boring (with the exception of Edith and the russian Prince, I wanted more of them!)

Whilst I love any story set in Imperial Russia, I'm going to give the next in this series a miss.

J'ai toujours beaucoup de plaisir à lire et à relire Gaston Leroux, en particulier les aventures de Rouletabille. Un vrai bonheur!
