This book was okay. I'm glad a finished it, but I felt like it was just lacking in some places. It didn't blow me away. It was tense throughout many of the chapters & had a decent twist, but at the same time, if you think back on the book, it's not all that surprising. 

✨biggest spoiler of the book below.✨

✨the mom being the actual murderer made complete sense, because she didn't only dislike her son in law, she was jealous of the time her daughter spent away from her with him. They were BOTH possessive of her.✨
✨I feel like a large chunk of the story that involved Ryan was edited out. It mentions him acting a bit flirty, then kinda creepy by casually grabbing her leg + the flowers with no name. I felt like that should have gone SOMEWHERE, but it just stopped. It then randomly brought up that he left the school in the end & I want to know WHY. WHAT ELSE HAPPENED?✨

I don’t know why I keep trying with Mary Kubica. I don’t know how a mystery can be this boring. It’s probably because the character development isn’t strong. Every character is very one note.

This was such a great read. Just the Nicest Couple had a great plot, but I found that the Characters POV were what really drove the story for me. I absolutely love the way Mary writes her characters. I always get so invested in each characters perspective it’s almost disappointing when it changes!
