Okay, now that I’ve had time to process, let’s get back into this! I was provided this ARC through NetGalley for my honest review. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the privilege! It was for the AUDIOBOOK, which means let’s talk narration. There are TWO POINTS OF VIEW (a win with me ALWAYS) and there are TWO NARRATORS (yay!!). They were both well done and embodied the characters beautifully.

Is it really enemies to lovers if they actually like each other but just think they hate each other?

Ahh! Okay this was so good!! High school enemies who are in love with each other who after 12 years become lovers! The banter was amazing and I loved the prank wars!

The Enemy
By Sarah Adams

⭐️⭐️ /5

“Some of us need to live through the healing rather than talk through it.”

After loving my very first Sarah Adams read, Practice Makes Perfect, I’ve been catching up on her past books. I’ve started to notice that for every book of Sarah’s that I love, there is one I don’t love so much. Sadly, that was the case with The Enemy.

I absolutely loved book one in the ‘It Happened in Charleston’ series, The Match, but I really struggled through this one. We follow another member of the Charleston Community, June, and her high-school crush/enemy Ryan. Sadly, that is all there is to say. I wanted to love it, I mean the book has a donut on the cover, but I just didn’t. There were some very funny moments, but to me, these characters and their relationship were stuck in high school.

Sarah Adams is still a must read author for me, because the books of her that I love, I REALLY love. Sadly, this just wasn’t one of them.
