I really enjoyed this book. Each of the main characters had very distinct personalities and the conflicting relationships added interesting subplots to the main story. The pacing of the story was well-done. My only real issue with this book is the cast was too big for the size of the book and the intricacy of the magic system. Each of the 4 girls is a different type of witch, plus supporting characters that are their own types of witch and other creatures. While it was all really interesting, it unfortunately was too short to fully explore these different types of magic along with their backstories (which I thought were all very well conceived). Overall, I really really enjoy the story; I just wish it was longer with more exploration of all the concepts presented.

I wanted to like this one more, but oof. It wasn't the best.

-Too many POVs (6!! That's too many!)
-Confusing plot. I felt like there were too many things going on and that this could have been explored over multiple books
-Queer rep felt like it was just shoved in at the last minute and not at all fleshed out
-Poor character development which led me to being confused about which character's chapter I was reading until about halfway through the book

This was a good debut novel with a diverse set of characters and extra witchy vibes. The plot picked up as the book went on, and I raced through the last few chapters. I enjoyed the seamless inclusion of queer characters. Because there were so many POVs, some of the character development was rushed, and I especially would have liked more from Jailah. I originally thought this was a standalone though, so I look forward to how things progress in book 2!

This book definitely feels like a CW series, and I think it would have been more effective as a TV show. Great idea, but the execution was messy - way too many POVs as well as pacing issues.

This book has a stunning cover and that is what made me want to read this. I had a hard time connecting with the characters and their backstories

I was confused about the magic system and almost felt like I was missing something throughout the whole story.

I almost felt like there were too many POVs - it may have confused things a bit for me. I would consider this book for a younger audience I thought there was a bit too much cussing
that kind of threw me

The next book cover looks just as beautiful
