Brilliant! Literary Disco turned me onto this genius and I can’t help myself. Do yourself a favor today and read a poem.

Dips into preachy, obvious, and zingy. It's pleasant enough that I may want to dip back into it again in the future. It's got some great one liners. Falls apart on a larger scale. Except for Entangle, which is the best poem in the book and by itself five stars. I also liked Achilles.

Absolute genius.  Tony Hoagland, a treasure lost all too soon.  All 4 sections of this book flow in an almost perfectly intimate and timely emotional narrative order as Tony wraps up things and ultimately reassures us, it will all be OK... "Now you are getting used to things that will not be happening again."

I met Tony Hoagland in the early nineties while attending U of A in Tucson at a reading by Mark Wunderlich.  He was a kind, genuine, man, whom one instantly becomes fond of.  I sit here with all his books on my shelf, rereading his collection, and am reminded how fortunate we are he took pen to paper.  Do yourself a favor and read at least one of his books.  Just my 2 cents... You deserve it.

Great poetry from a poet I hadn’t yet discovered. Highly accessible and unexpectedly stirring.
