I really like Nina LaCour's style of writing, it is so pure and raw with emotion. My main critique of this book is that it felt unfinished. I wish I had more moments between Mila and the others at the house (especially Billy and Liz). I would have like to see more of the development of their relationship throughout the book.

A clever, yet haunting (there are ghosts - get it?) perspective on the impact of a traumatic childhood. The emo quotient is high but there is some payoff in the end, especially for anyone who has fantasized about living a simple life off the grid or being adopted (even as an adult) into a large family.
