A book of a person that pushes himself over all obstacles and never looks kindly on his own boundaries. He strives to push forward and be a more "hard" or "savage" person every day. That is, kindly put, not the kind of mindset I strive for. I noticed a lot of behaviours I had when I was younger that are still embodied in him. We have a few similar issues - not every single one but close enough for it to be an interesting take from a person that took a different path than me.

A lot of points he made make me think and helped me to reevaluate my mindset. I still do not think that his way of living is the way for me or even a prosperous one, but he is kinda aware of it and assumes a persona that is mocking every person who needs a push in his mindset.

I personally took away a few motivational bits for going forward, a perspective I couldn't have experienced myself, but my compass still set on healing through boundaries and compassion instead of going savage mode and constantly pushing myself and those around me.

I learned the past few years that pushing yourself too much results in far greater losses than respecting yourself. He speaks of an alternate persona of him which helps him pushing himself through hard times and striving to be better every day is his way to go - even with major setbacks, which are mostly physical to his own volition mind you.

I know for sure that one has different capacities everyday and you should set your boundaries accordingly. In his mindset people like that are complacent but let me tell you that it is hard enough to stay in these boundaries and constantly improve your own self perception.

I understand that his mindset is influenced by huge chunks of military and athlete culture and I am mostly influenced by the arts and education prospects but thats exactly why it was really interesting to read his mindset and think about what I want to be my compass.

As he said, this is not a self-help book, but I thought it was an interesting study of a person that is called the most ambitious and "savage" person by some.
