So Night Circus is my favorite book and I’m always looking for something that gives me what I felt reading that. This book did that. Martha, Henry and Opaline’s stories were so engaging and magical that I was hooked from the first sentence. I love the multiple POV and I’m a sucker for duel timelines, I love seeing how the past can contribute to the present. I feel like this book is about the power of stories and your place in the world. Truly being who you are and not hiding from it was a key theme in my opinion. Magic Realism is such a compelling genre that instantly grabs me and doesn’t let go. I really loved the beautiful, sad, and hopeful book.

Considering what a dud my last read was, this one could only be given a full five stars. I normally dislike parallel timelines telling two stories back and forth. This time, it felt less linear and more circular. I was yelling angered, saddened, shocked, elated, hopeful, satisfied, curious, cheerful, and so many other feelings all throughout the book. There are so open questions, but the book felt so good to finish that none of those questions actually need answers for me.

I enjoyed this book. Listened to it as an audiobook via Hoopla.

This is a mostly realistic story with fantastical elements. It takes part in two time periods: 1940s with Opaline and modern day with Henry and Martha.

A mysterious bookshop that appears and disappears as it wills is at the center of everyone’s adventures. A tree is growing at its center. Strange events, “coincidences”, and possible spirits surround this shop. It’s almost as if the bookshop is alive and guiding these people through life and toward fulfillment, wisdom, and love.

This novel has the potential to reach 5 stars for its timeless lessons and relatable characters.

This book…. This book, honestly trying to review it without spoilers is soo hard!
I genuinely loved everything about this book. It is clever, wondrous, tragic, hopeful, passionate & just so many things.
I was on a constant ride of highs and lows, cried, laughed, blushed, gasped and celebrated.
The multiple POV and time line are done wonderfully and easy to follow.
The characters are wonderful and full and go through so much, good and bad.
The Lost Bookshop is a must for all lovers of reading and magic, with some wonder literary history featured.

This book is an instant re-read for me and 100% recommend as many people as possible experience the journey that Evie Woods has so wonderfully put on paper.
