I love thrillers that take place in close-knit communities. They're usually so dramatic or so trashy, and both options are amazing.

This book was okay, it wasn't as salacious as I expected, but it still had a lot of shocking elements to it. I don't know if I liked the ending, but my overall experience was good.

I enjoyed reading this.

An entertaining drama with awesome Halloween vibes. The Mother Next Door is what I call "thriller light".

There were a few small unexpected twists,  but overall the book was predictable.  The characters were awful.

Seemed a bit YA in the beginning. Drug out in the middle. And finally got interest toward the end.

Don't assume--you make an ass out of u and me.
That pretty much sums up this book of women at their worst.
I enjoy these little neighborhood / street dramas--they do seem favored these past years. this is a good one. A bonus that this is set at Halloween. (It is not, however, a Halloween story.) Laskowski certainly knows how to fine tune pacing to engender interest and suspense.

Started interesting but I zoned out about halfway through since not a lot was happening. The twists was a little lost on me because of that and when I listened again it felt more like an explanation than a twist.
Would recommend to read it around halloween and not the middle of summer like I did, the right timing might add to the story.
