This book of the series was not my favorite. There were a few new characters introduced whichw as awesome, but when there would be abbreviations (B, S, N, etc.) it was pretty hard to follow. Other than that, I can't wait to read the next book.

Den här serien blir bara sämre och sämre men Jenny är inte med längre så man behöver inte höra om hennes bröst hela tiden, även fast det är tydligen det ända karaktärerna tänker på när man nämner Jenny.

2.5 stars.

I feel like by this point the series should have been finished. Nothing really happens. The books keep cycling the same arguments, relationships and issues so they’re becoming very boring to read.

This is the ninth book in the Gossip Girl book series. Despite that steamy kiss on graduation night, Blair, Serena, and Nate have gone their separate ways, though not for long. Blair is off to London with her English Lord boyfriend, Serena's about to become a movie star and Nate's rolling up his well-worn khakis and heading to the Hamptons. Back in New York, Dan and Vanessa are rekindling their love. I was disappointed that this book didn’t further explore a potential Blair and Serena romantic relationship, although I did like that Blair, Serena, and Nate parted ways and focused on themselves at the start. I liked the continued storylines with Serena working as an actress and Blair being entangled with Lord Marcus. Nate is the same boring girl crazy airhead. Dan’s character is sidelined in this book compared to previous books, and it was strange seeing him essentially be a secondary character in this book when he’s a main character and such a big part of the television series. It’s safe to say Dan and Nate’s characters are boring in comparison to the girls. This book sees the departure of Jenny’s character from the main book series in order to set her up for her own spin-off book series called The It Girl. I’m a little disappointed that Jenny’s character didn’t have any interesting character arcs in the main Gossip Girl book series, as I loved her character arc and storylines from the television show. I am planning on reading the It Girl book series, and I’m hoping that Jenny will have interesting storylines in those books seeing as she’s the central character. Being the ninth book in the series, I expected much more dramatic and fresh storylines and plot developments this far into the series, but none of the storylines so far hold a candle to the storylines from the television show. The amount of cheating storylines in these books cause the books to feel repetitive and boring. The constant shifts in the romantic relationships between the characters on the show were fast but they were always interesting, in the books, it often feels random and unearned. While this book series started like a clever satire of the upper crust society that the author came from, it has quickly devolved into literal “adventures” of vapid nepotism babies. The television show also declined in quality after an excellent first season, but this book series declined in quality without giving us any interesting story developments first, just a lot of set-up and storytelling potential that seems wasted. This book felt empty, like an outline of a story without any life breathed into it. This book felt boring. I just didn’t care about anything that was happening. I still have a few books left, so I hope that the climax to the story is the actual interesting part of the overall story, but with only three books left, it’s safe to say that most of these books feel like filler and padding.

Yet another book of this crazy, astonishingly rich kids. Blair and Lord Marcus Beaton story. Dan and Nate's summer affairs and a real movie ending. Loads of north american new vocabulary. I'm completely ready to come back to the city that never sleeps.
