This is a book that is easy to read cover-to-cover but also a really great resource to which readers will return over and over in search of new ideas to implement in college classrooms. The book also contains lots of references to the research it used to generate all the ideas and strategies presented in the book. So, if the reader wants to go to the sources of some strategies, they're easy to find. Mostly, this book is a workbook. The chapter topics cover study skills and the instructional strategies that help improve them (we know student largely use ineffective study strategies), note-taking, reading skills (and how to get students to do the reading), study groups, and exam study and review strategies. So, there is a lot for everyone and ideas even for the most experienced practitioners.
Highly recommended.
