I couldn’t bring myself to like a single character in this book. I only finished it because my curiosity wouldn’t let me not find out what happened. The plot was quite interesting but the characters were totally unlikeable.

This was written well, and I enjoyed the mystery! I guessed a couple of the twists, but there were several I didn’t see coming!!

Kimberly McCreight does it again, with a mystery that pulls you in and has u saying wtf out loud while reading. another fun read, also i adore the way she writes woman, it’s done with so much love and empathy in a way that I feel only a woman can create and understand and I never have to worry about it something disgusting happening to them in an objectifying ‘male-gazey’ way

Als Lizzie von ihrem ehemaligen Studienkollegen aus dem Gefängnis kontaktiert wird, ist sie verständlichweise nicht begeistert. Seine Frau ist tot in dem gemeinsamen Haus gefunden worden und er ist der Hauptverdächtige. So entspinnt sich die Geschichte. Amanda war nach Außen eine perfekte Ehefrau, aber wie so oft trügt der Schein. 
Dieses Buch war ein klassischer Pageturner, aber verschiedenste Personen wurden dabei tiefgründiger beleuchtet. Im Raum steht die Frage, was eine vermeintlich perfekte Ehe ausmacht. Viele Ehen sehen am Papier gleich aus, aber jede zwischenmenschliche Beziehung hat andere Probleme zu bewältigen. Während man das Buch liest kommen immer mehr Motive auf, die einen Mord an der schönen Amanda zur Folge gehabt haben könnten. Nachdem ich schon einige Thriller gelesen habe, freue ich mich immer umso mehr einen guten weiterempfehlen zu können. Dieser Thriller hält was er verspricht.
