When you inherit something you don’t expect there to be conditions to it normally, but that is exactly what Calamity (Callie) got when she inherited her father’s estate. The conditions were to move to Marketville, in the house she lived in as a child and solve her mother’s disappearance. Her mother disappeared when she was six so it was a long time ago.
Callie goes about trying to find out what has happened to her mother, along the way meeting some interesting people and clues. I liked the tarot card reading, the eerie feel to some parts. It kept me listening and was enjoyable.
I think that this novel was well thought out and researched well too, the narrator held my attention throughout. I am eager to start the second in the series now.

I love this book! I love that it is based in and around Toronto (local for me). The story is great and I love the characters!

Liked the storyline and characters. The ending seemed rushed and anti- climactic.
