The story was sewn seamlessly but I felt like the characters were written to be not likeable. Or maybe it was just me.

4.5 stars. Beautifully written and lovably flawed characters. Definitely not something I would've naturally gravitated towards, but a perfect balance between light and heavy.

I could totally understand why this book would be a 5/5 for some people. The way that Zevin writes some of the chapters in interesting perspectives can be a little bit jarring, though I mostly enjoyed it and found it used effectively. I did really enjoy this book and would recommend it to people, especially if you grew up playing video games in the late '90s to early 2000s.

I found this book to be very hard to relate to. I did not understand Sam and Sadie’s relationship throughout 80% of the book. Marx’s character seemed to be a major piece yet I felt we knew very little about him aside for the weird NPC chapter. I did finish it but I didn’t feel that there was any reason to after completing it. The last 10-15% seemed…repetitive and dull.

This was an okay book but just not for me, i was bored through the book and maybe because i didnt understood the message from the book or the things that happened in the book. Personally i experienced like i was reading about a bond between 2 people that had ups and downs, at first when i finished it i thought it was a good book but then i realized it wasnt really that good for me.
