So I read this series out of order, so even with all the spoilers for Delilah and Claire's relationship, I really liked how it began as a whole. It was cheesy yes, but the romance was very sweet.

The characters were developed nicely, their different problems were well written and are definitely relatable to some readers who have experienced the same things.

I like the fact this series is about women who are in their late twenties, it's a refreshing twist for the romance genre since some of the characters in this series talk about how they still don't know what they're doing with their lives sometimes.

Some problems with this book was the writing for the sex scenes weren't good at all. It does get better with the later books! But this one, made me cringe so much. I'm sorry, who uses "mound" and thinks that's sexy?! And I hate the trope "it was a bet". To start off a romance like that feels very lazy and cheapens the relationship.

Also there was a lack of diversity in this book. Sure there was a lot of good rep for the lgbtq community, but there was nothing else. One very minor black character and that's it. As someone who has now read the books, this does get better, but not by a lot.

Overall this was a good sapphic romance. All of the characters weren't one-dimensional, they all had some depth, the romance was very sweet and it's a good start to the already completed series.

I’m kinda torn between a 3.75 and a 4 star review. It was good but I think some of the lower ratings put to words the vibes of something missing.

I think Claire was a better character but idk if she had super solid character growth for someone who we get POV from even though I do love dual pov.

I also think the non romantic drama lacked a bit of nuance but idk how I’d do it differently so lol

I did skip most of the sexy stuff bc it was eh but as I’ve been mentioning in other reviews, I have usually been skipping them in all my books.
