This book is so beautifully written and yet so vulnerable and raw. I resonated with Sarah's writing as a person who also struggles with mental illness. This book has brought so much light and hope to my heart and I will be re-reading it in the future for courage, beauty and truth. Fantastic book for all.

This book is about finding God’s love and beauty in the midst of darkness. Not after darkness has passed, not in spite of the darkness, but IN it. I liked and could relate to the first half better than the second half of the book.

Wonderfully beautiful book about how finding beauty in our lives through what God has given us can help us overcome darkness.

Not a Christian book. More self centered and new age then actual Christian.

I love how real Sarah was in telling her story and I loved that part. I didn’t “love” this book because I found it hard to follow the story line. The timeline jumps around and the writing is so “flowery” that I kept forgetting what the original point was for the chapter.

A memoir that describes the author's experience with loss and mental illness, and how God showed her his goodness through her trials. She concludes that God does not abandon us, nor does he pluck us out of our suffering, but rather he FILLS it with himself. A very Catholic view of spirituality, although she is a high church Anglican.
