I first approached this book with a little bit of trepidition. I'm not particularly religious and I hate proselytizing, so I was cautiously optimistic (based on the ratings) that this wouldn't be a sermon masquerading as a romance. I am glad to say that it wasn't like that at all. In fact, it turned out to be a pretty sweet love story featuring two very likeable MC's. It sure made a nice change from some of the more emotionally taxing books I've read recently. 4 stars

I love pairings that you think will be hard to pull off, but the authors did a wonderful job with this priest/rock star second-chance romance. Loved the dynamic between the two men, especially since a lot of the story takes place in their childhood hometown. Gotta love it when they end up in a place where they have history!

****HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SECOND CHANCES****

Audiobook narrated by Michael Ferraiuolo
WHAT I LOVED...

1. The Characters:
Nicky is a Rockstar on the mend after years of drug abuse. He comes back home for down time and healing, but he never knew what was waiting for him... #HomeAgain

Jasper is an out and proud priest, speaking out for LGBTQ community and the church's acceptance. That is until Nicky comes back to town. #BlastFromThePast

2. The Plot:
The book is all about struggle... Jasper struggling with his feelings and attraction and his faith, Nicky struggling with addiction and forgiveness, and his music, Both of them struggling to stay friends and ignore their feelings that never went away... #TheStruggleIsReal

3. The Romance:
This progressed so flawlessly... the way they came back to each other, the way their feelings manifested again, and the way they let go and became happy.... #GrabThatSecondChance

4. The Heat:
Just like everything Leta writes... this was hot, sweet, and filthy all in the same breathe. #MakingUpForLostTime

5. The HEA:
Perfect, sweet, healing and worth it. #LongTimeComing

6. The Audiobook:
Amazing performance by Michael . He made these characters come to life! #NailedIt

difficult in parts but great end

This book deals with a few different issues, addiction, mental disorders, and faith in God, to name a few. I did feel that they were all handled well. I wasn’t sure how it would work in the end but it has a very happy ending!

What a wonderful surprise this turned out to be - it has been on my Kindle for a long time, but I’ll admit that it was forgotten about and I kept passing over it. I finally sat down to read it, and boy do I regret how long it took me to do that, because I absolutely fell in love with the story. It is beautifully written, such a perfect slow-burn, with a wonderful ending and characters I genuinely cared about.
