These books actually get better as they progress. I really liked this one, it was full of good characters, kick-ass fights, a nice plot and nice twists in said plot. I'm definitly reading more!

i'm completely hooked. this book stepped up the action and opened up sookie's world to additional supernatural beings. as the books progress you get more information on the culture of being vampire. political structure, social hierarchy and sexual behavior are all described, bringing the entire vampire experience into focus. this story by far trumps the second book in the series (living dead in dallas) and completely sets you up for the fourth installation (dead to the world). new allegiances are formed and new love interests build tension for the relationship between bill and sookie. i can't wait to find out what will happen.
