I've never loved mystery, or so I thought. I bought this (somehow) not knowing it was a murder mystery. Let me tell you, I do not remember the last time I read a book so fast. It must have been ten years since I've read so quick. Not only did I realize that I love mystery, it also got me right back into reading! I cannot wait to read the sequel.

This novel was spectacular! All 387 pages had me hooked and leaning forward wondering, “what’s going to happen next?” I think AGGM is a masterclass in mystery writing! Despite the large cast of characters, Jackson ensured that everyone mentioned by name remained relevant— every single thread introduced in the first two acts were neatly tied together in the final act. The complexity of the mystery itself did not soil the story; though I didn’t always understand the clues and laws, it was entertaining to read Pip discover secrets and watch the mystery unfold. And to think that this is Holly Jackson’s first novel. Are you kidding me? I wish authors could hold classes on character development. It was easy to give AGGM 5 stars, it felt almost mandatory after such an intense and incredible read. This book was a journey that I would gladly take again.

This book was amazing. I've never read any sort of murder mystery or crime novel before and this book was incredible. I must admit, I read this book in a matter of a day and a half and stayed up much to late reading it.
First of all, I really loved how this book was written with Pip's journal/notes making up a large part of the writing. The way the book was narrarated was incredibly real and nothing about the characters, setting or plot felt fake or forced at all.
Second of all, the plot twists and writing through out the novel gave me shivers multiple times. It was scary at times and I loved it!
This book was not slow at all amd as I mentioned before, it had me from the first page till the end, which did not disappoint.
I definitely would recommend this book to anyone, regardless of their experience with murder, crime or mystery novels! It's amazing!

It took me far too long to pick up. It took me awhile to be hooked, but once I was, I WAS HOOKED! I made the mistake of reading the chapter when Barney dies on a train (I didn’t know what was coming at that point). I was near tears because animals are EVERYTHING to me. That scene literally broke me. I wanted to stop reading right then because wrong doing to animals is a big no no! But I continued reading and I’m so glad I did. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the sequel!

I recommend reading this series if you want to get back into reading. This book was so good and suspenseful that it made me want to keep reading. I couldn’t stop reading and the plot twists were amazing.
I can’t believe that there were 2 killers and that Elliot ward was the one who killed Sal. Sal didn’t deserve that and even though beca bell was “the second killer” i felt really bad for her. She technically wasn’t a killer.
