I hope you have a sweet tooth, this is a very sweet Omegaverse. The writing was great, smut was good, story was intriguing. However, to me there was way too much detail in the relationship building & not enough progression. I’m ok with the miscommunication trope but not if that’s really the only “conflict”. It’s well written & a great first book but it’s just not a personal favorite. If you love sweet romance then you would love it!

This was my first book by Jenny Black and it was a fun take on omegaverse. Once I started this book I couldn't put in down and ended up finishing it in one sitting. This is a little different from most omegaverse books in that the omega already had a well-established long-term relationship with a beta and didn't want to add anyone else, but her biology forced it on her. I think the author did a good job of making sure there was plenty of communication between everyone and it never felt like her beta was left behind or second place. I do wish we could have seen more from the other omega in the alpha's pre-established pack, but I have a feeling that will happen in the next book. This book does end on a cliff hanger, and I can't wait to see what's coming next.

I could not put this down. Once the courting started I so desperately wanted to get to their HEA that I barely slept. The book ends on a cliffhanger so get ready for that. I like the inclusivity of the cast of characters and the fact that this focuses so intensely on the emotional aspect of an omegaverse relationship. I hoped we would have gotten more of Damon/Cat and more scenes on paper of individual interactions to help buy into the depth of feeling the characters have for one another, however, I am absolutely going to read book 2 and I can’t wait to see what happens with this pack and it’s interesting dynamics! ❤️

I ate this UP

I went into this book completely blind and was not disappointed! The instant chemistry! Cat and Adam have my hearts but as do Damon, Abby, Mickey and Matt. I love proper use of pronouns throughout the whole book! It was beautiful. Literally read this book within a couple hours! I’m glad i purchased this book! I am immediately starting the 2nd one! We’re off to a great start!

I hate the miscommunication trope, but…

I won’t spoil, but I genuinely think this was a well done miscommunication trope. There was a valid reason for the information being kept from our FMC. You definitely reach certain points in the book where you have the “oh I see what’s going on here” moments, though.

I did think the book ended in a weird place. I get that there’s going to be a part 2, but where it ends is kind of like “oh, okay. That’s cool.” rather than “GIMME MORE NOW!” Ya feel? And I’d almost have rather been left on the edge of my seat.

One thing I didn’t like (that’s totally a personal preference) is all of the references made in the book. I personally enjoy omegaverse because it’s a slightly different world from ours. So, all of the references to pieces of media that I’ve personally interacted with just took me out of the book. I love me some Kathryn Moon as much as the next girl, but I don’t want to read about characters who also read her. If that makes sense. I almost would have preferred if they read Zola and the Billionaires because then it would have been an inside joke.

Also, is our NbMC intersex? I’m still a little confused on that point. And I’m hoping to learn more about them!

Overall, this was a very sweet omegaverse read and I’m intrigued to see where the story goes. Congrats to the author on their debut!

I really enjoyed this debut novel by Jenny L. Black. I'm a big fan of omegaverse novels so this book was right up my alley.

I loved the relationship between Cat and Adam, you could really see how much they really cared for each other. Matt and Abby were just the sweetest alphas. I'm not sure yet about Damon... He's going to need to do some serious groveling in the next book.

My least favourite part of the book was how Mickey was treated by their pack, I just didn't love it.

Overall, it was a great read and I'm looking forward to the next book!

I received an ARC copy of the book but I'm leaving this review voluntarily.

This book is about Cat and how she is with. Her beta of 7 years total and the last 5 have been as her being an omega.   Adam is her beta mate and they love each other but when her suppressants stop working mid heat and it goes bad they have to court an Alpha pack.

They really don't want to do this but they end up going to the Omega place to get a match but they aren't really into helping them since she has a beta mate and won't drop him for it.

I liked that there was consent from all of the alphas and how they both were getting to know them on another level but the ending was a little flat for me.

I don't think I will be continuing this book.  I liked the writing and everything but I'm not sure that I want to know how it all ends up since I am sure that they will be together anyway.

I did like that there were characters that were a part of the LGBTQIA+ within the group.  I had not read to many omegaverse that has that component except MM or FF (rarely).
