why didn’t I DNF this?

This was not for me.
It was free so I won’t complain too much…

I just don’t have anything good to say…

Instead of stopping I just sped read (not that it was a a dense read…) and hoped it would pick up and get better or at the very least have some good spice… it didn’t. At least for me.

It was an okay read. The beginning was interesting and had a good development of the characters. Towards the end it lost my interest. The ending felt abrupt and that there was going to be another book.

This story was a sexy, fun, absolute delight to read. Violet is a collage freshman, who meets a super sexy guy at orientation, David. The attraction was sudden, but still had that slow burn feel caused by certain intriguing complications that made me want to keep reading to see if these guys would get a happily ever after. There was no shortage of drama, suspense, and mystery. This romance has a side of kick, for those who prefer a bit of action with their love stories. There were some surprising twists. I can't go into detail without spoiling the story, but I was very happy with how the plot unfolded. I liked how real the characters felt, especially Violet and David. I really connected with Violet, and the accent on David almost broke the needle on the hotness scale. This is a definite must read for any new adult or romance fan, and I can't wait for the next book in this series.

I know this is the first ever published novel by the author, so the lack of experience in the writing does show. However, the plot, development of some characters, and overall connection I had to some of the characters was great. It was a book that kept me interested.

I read some other reviews for the other two novels in this series that the author’s writing starts to develop more in those books. I’m very much looking forward to that!
