This book was a nice spin on West Side Story/Romeo & Juliet. I enjoyed reading it. & the music competition was a joy for me. I liked Mariana & Angelo, they were so sweet & caring! I would read this book again.

This was a surprisingly good story. I wanted more and found some of the writing clunky. It’s much more of a slow burn but I thought that the story of rival mariachi bands was so fun. I loved their character growth and would love to read more from this author. But I did find there to be too many characters and it’s insta love for sure.

West Side Love Story by Priscilla Oliveras - Rating: 4/5⭐️

A mariachi rendition of Romeo and Juliet or Westside story that follows two Texas families that are in rivalry. Mariana Capuleta and Angelo Mantero’s forbidden attraction leaves more tension between the families than just a music competition.
