A funny, whacky, and creative read, which reminded me of the works of Terry Pratchett and Robert Rankin. Normally, I prefer darker horror, but this was a refreshing change between reads. I did chuckle quite a bit and I would definitely read more from this author in the future.

Zombie lady knitters, deceased imposter superheroes, gladiator trolls and the appropriately named Rhino of Death rub shoulders in this lively, inventive and darkly humorous collection of crisply hideous tales that explore some of the many different ways we think about the afterlife: how we get there, whether we can ever escape, and all the dark and ghoulish characters that populate its shadows. There is definitely a touch of Pratchett and Douglas Adams here, but also the black humour of metal and the quirky whimsy of Monty Python. Each story is told in an easy, clear style that effortlessly plunges us into a new world in a matter of a few sentences. The stories tickle the old funnybone but also make you think about last things: true laughter in the dark. Great illustrations and great titles too: 'The Keith of Death' is my favourite...
