Very unreletable to me. I liked the prose, but the contents were a bit cringey because I don't like dysfunctional, helpless, characters that are chaotic in a constantly sad and depressive way. It's described as a coming-of-age story, but it was super static; more navel-gazey than actually introspective.

MAJOR TW FOR THE "POPPONESSET" CHAPTER: graphic depiction of rape.

I really enjoyed reading this, although it was quite frenetic and chaotic at times. It's interesting that Storygraph has categorized it as a fiction book!

oh i was severely disappointed by this book. i was expecting a memoir that dived into life as a lesbian in the 60s but instead it was just 270 pages of her talking about getting drunk and fucking people. plus lots of racism and fat phobia which were off putting.
