Cliche

Possessive Vows was supposedly an arranged marriage with Mafia thrown in but that is not at all when is written in the book. Dario stole Pia from her dad so not arranged at all and we got none of the Mafia side other than being told Dario was the leader of a family. Pia also adjusted a little too well to the outside world considering she was locked up since she was 8 years old. It was a bit cliche in my opinion that she falls for the man that took her.

Pia became mute after she witnessed her father stab her mother to death. And her father has kept her prisoner, locked in a tower, ever since. He finally lets her out, but only to lead her to her marriage to a stranger he chose.

Before the ceremony begins, rival mob boss Dario Santoro and his men raid the wedding, capturing Pia, whisking her away, and marrying her himself. He does this in a plan to destroy Pia's father, and take over his territory. Neither he nor Pia planned on falling in love.

This is an engaging mafia tale, with action and violence, but also romance, familial love, caring, understanding, and plenty of steam.

Ivy davis writes some really good mafia stories. I liked that Dario wasn't your normal mafia boss and was a sweet guy. I liked that he was gentle with Pia and always looking out for her best interest.
