One of my fav books ever!! I read half of it in one day -- absolutely love the plot, the characters, and how it's written!

The Flatshare is the first book by Beth O'Leary I have read. Overall, I think it was a successful debut for the author.

The plot and the fact that the book contains the POV of both main characters were the aspects that primarily attracted me. However, due to their writing, Leon's first chapters became a challenge. Once I overcame this difficulty, I realized that, just as Tiffy's chapters represented her personality, Leon's factual and unemotional tone reflected his character and contributed to the narrative's construction.

Even though sharing a flat in shifts is an odd way to meet someone, I believe the development of the friendship and subsequent romantic relationship between the two characters was believable. In my opinion, this happened because of the messages they exchanged via Post-it notes, which allowed each of them (and the reader) to get to know the other.

Finally, I would like to highlight all the subplots that significantly intensified the dynamics of the book - I loved getting to know Richie, Mo and Gerty, Holly, and Mr Prior! Additionally, they allowed for the expansion of essential topics addressed by the book (e.g., abusive relationships, flaws in the justice system, racial biases, prejudices, and social expectations).

Ugh so cute and silly and also very real and emotional. Loved it! For me it was the perfect amount of spice, just a little without any cringey details. Will definitely check out the authors other books!!

This book was ridiculously good. If you want a talkative MC x introvert MC trope go for it. If you want to see the best group of friends who are the pillars of the MC, go for it. If you want to see some brotherly love happening, go for it. If you like tall people, go for it. If you want slowburn romance, go for it. If you want to see the MCs develop friendship through the ancient way of writing notes, then please go for it. If you want to read about sub-plots of love, warmth and hope, then definitely go for it. Above all if you want to read about a very heartwarming love story and the sweetest proposal then yes please read this book.

Mietin tässä, että raskinko antaa tälle 5 tähteä, mutta en keksi yhtäkään syytä antaa matalampaa arvosanaa. Ihan mahtava, tunteellinen ja kaunis kertomus. Kaikki muutkin O’Learyn kirjoista menee saman tien lukulistalle. Lukekaa ihmeessä!
