I’m a huge fan of Kristin Hannah usually. This story felt a little forced. The plot moved way too quickly but somehow still felt slow. It felt like she was trying to rewrite Firefly Lane. It wasn’t bad but certainly not her best.

This was a good book. A bit too predictable and convenient, but the characters worked, I guess. Just, after reading The Nightingale, I expected... More.

Meg was interesting, Claire was boring. Joe was the best character, Bobby was... There for Claire. I don't know, I kind of wish there was no romance involved in the plot. If it was all about the sisters and the parents, in my eyes it'd work best.

But the writing was good, the book delivered on what it promised, so three stars.
