It wasn’t my favorite out of the series. But I like Eve!

Another Sweetverse hit! KMoon writes not only writes delectable characters but such engaging stories too. And the voice actors she scores for each book knock it out of the park! Julio Maxwell reading for Adam and Garrett was superb.

I love how much KMoon refers back to characters and plots from previous books and also seeds plot for the next installment in each book. Seeing Eve soften a bit to let the test of the pack in as she healed was great. She was still a total BAMF and that this shift didn't dull her edge at all, but it just gave her even more dimension as a character. And I can't wait to meet Faith and have her reunite with Adam!

This was my first no-shift Omegaverse novel. It was also my first "reverse harem" poly book. I would recommend it to readers who are curious but cautious about both of those concepts, the pacing of the book and they way the plot is set up allows the reader to ease into both those aspects.

The heroine is a female alpha who is an assassin and has been sent to kill a hacker who is a omega that is disguising himself as a beta. In this world every person gives off pheromones that announce to the people around them what position they hold. Instead of killing her mark immediately she takes him home with her. The decision not to kill him comes back to haunt her as now they are being pursued by the people who want him dead. Having bonded with him our heroine decides she is going to keep him alive and help him achieve his mission. This leads her to hire two alphas who work for a security company as their body guards. These men and their friend become part of the pack and as a group they begin to take on a corrupt human trafficking corporation.

This 500 page book allows the reader to get to know Eve, why she is working as an assassin and understand her bond with her target Adam before introducing the three male alphas into the story. Each one is well developed and through their perspectives the reader is able to understand the bond each has with the other characters.

Fantastic read! I do wish we had gotten to know a bit more about what made Eve into the super awesome killer hitwoman she is today, but even without that background I was fully engaged the whole way through.  I was a touch disappointed that more of the book didn't focus on Adam, him being the omega and all. I especially wish that we had gotten more of Jamie and Rory's viewpoints towards Adam, I would have loved to see how they valued him as the centring omega even without them having sexual/romantic feelings towards him.  I would have even loved for them to maybe just state that they were straight, or given some other explanation for not wanting to be with Adam.
