to be loved is to be seen, and i felt so seen and loved by this book. i dont know how emily austin does it again and again - writing neurodivergence so perfectly. & the fact that boygenius partly inspired enid makes everything even better

With major BIG SWISS vibes, Austin explores queer dating, women’s mental health, avoidance, true crime podcasts, neurodivergence, and, as the title indicates, facts about space. She keeps the voice and tone weird and warm in the best way. I loved every funny, charming, tender and offbeat moment.

My first 5 star of 2024! I love Emily Austin's writing! It's so easy to read while still being well written and it flows so well! While there's no plot, I loved Enid as a character and I enjoyed reading about her day to day life. I'm a character driven reader, so this book was definitely for me. Enid was so relatable for me with her dealing with her anxiety and depression, as well as her obsession with true crime. I loved this book and can't wait to see what Emily Austin puts out next!

I managed to overcome aspiring to appear normal but never really figured out what I should aspire to be. I have a feeling that what I should try to become has nothing to do with my job, though. If I had to guess, I'd bet I should be aspiring to become happy, or a good person, or something. That's probably what enlightened people do.
This book managed to somehow be very real and creepy and heartwarming simultaneously. I adore Emily Austin's writing style.

One thing about Emily Austin she’s gonna a write about an anxious lesbian and I Will Read It.
I loved this. I adore the stream-of-consciousness writing style that Austin has and the tenderness of the story and how the different relationships are portrayed.
I didn’t quite connect with this one emotionally at first the way I did right off the bat with Everyone In This Room Will Someday Be Dead. Towards the end though (spoilers ahead, I guess) when it all came together…..I genuinely have not stopped thinking about it.
Trauma is portrayed here in such a niche and tender and understanding way that just really spoke to me, I guess? It felt so true to life. Sometimes these things that fuck you up aren’t easy narrativizable moments or clearcut Traumatic Events. Sometimes they are locked behind a mental door that you refuse to open. Sometimes things aren’t explainable and they don’t feel big enough and they don’t make sense and they still fuck you up. Everything tied together beautifully and really spoke to me and give myself grace I guess? Whatever. Love this book <3
