This book legit kept me up all night My eyes were drooping wanting rest but I just couldn't.It Is hilarious, not too steamy, heavy on feelings that hockey players aren't good at discussing.
It's also about a socially awkward but very talented man who almost always says the wrong things and hides part of himself because he is so scared to lose what he has.
It is also about another man who has had a chip on his shoulder since someone took advantage of him when he shouldn't have.Awesome read

“People think parents are perfect. Like we’re saints, or something. But you know, just like Saint Patrick, we all let in a few goals.”

“Are you sure Jared’s their kid?” Zoe asked in a whisper, when they were all at dinner the last night. “Because maybe he was left on a doorstep.”
“By who?” Lane whispered back, intrigued. “Do people do that? I don’t know, but I can ask. Elizabeth? Zoe and I were wondering—ow—”
“If Jared really got that scar from a skate, or if he had an argument with some kitchen shears or somethin’.”
“Why would anyone keep shears in the kitchen? Those are for sheep,” Lane told her, and she sighed. “You miss me. Don’t lie.”

Lane was so socially awkward adorable and it was so nice to get a hockey player who is a little less cock sure and more down to earth. I adored him so much, one of my favorite characters for sure. I liked quite a lot of the characters in this novel and the romance was scorching and sweet at the same time.

This was a struggle to get through. I really didn’t like the writing style, I hated the insta-love aspect of the main relationship and Lanes personality became very grating the more I read.

4.5 stars. Lane is so funny. And Jared about broke heart. A wonderful couple who are perfect for each other. Loved their story.

Okay, this was really cute and had everything I love in an MM romance: hockey players, age gap, virgin, happy ending, little to no homophobia...this was fun and quick read and helped me to decide to read the rest of this series!!!
