This is the second book in the series and book 1 needs to be read first.

Rose Perry has just moved to New York with her "boyfriend" Bruce Norton, partially to get away from Virgil Blake. She is trying to be happy with Bruce but she keeps thinking about Virgil and can't get him off her mind.

Virgil Blake is complicated. He has a past that involves Rose and knows that they are meant to be together but he has some things that need to be taken care of before they can be together.

Bruce Norton is not who Rose thinks he is and he has a reason for getting close to Rose and it's clear that she isn't going to be happy when she discovers why.

Can Rose make a decision between the two men who want her and when she discovers the truth about certain things what will she decide?

I liked this book but I had a hard time getting into it which frustrated me.

This book was almost darker than the first with the revelation of many secrets that have been kept. Both Virgil and Bruce had secrets they were keeping from Rose and it's clear that more is still going to come out in the next book.

I liked Rose and I understood why she left for New York with Bruce after having her heart broken by Virgil, which he wasn't meaning to do. Yet it was so evident that she wasn't over Virgil and was with Bruce somewhat for convenience. Now that Rose knows what she does it'll be interesting to see what happens in the next book.

I still really like Virgil and how flawed he is. I know why he needed Jade around him but it's interesting on what his "responsibilities" are and how he is being labeled for his actions. It was also really interesting to see what happened to his body when he and Rose were around each other.

The information I learned about Bruce this book I never saw coming and I know that it is far from over where he is involved.

The book had some twists and turns that I was definitely not expecting and looking forward to the next book.
