The illustrations in this comic are amazing. If you go to the author’s website , for each issue a track was made to listen to and it really makes you feel like your are in this world.

I did find the story a little hard to follow and hope that the next issues and volume clear up things on what exactly is happening in this world. I think think the lack of details is intentional though.

I appreciate the meaning of the metaphors, but this was insanely difficult to follow both visually and plot-wise.

4.5 stars! Intelligent, abstract, fluid. Sloane deconstructs colonialism in this über weird imperialistic space where the main character Vep navigates her indigenous identity from fragmented memories and perceptions of her reality. The textures, colors, and art in this graphic novel are everything; I’m looking forward to the next one. Read this!
