This was an easy read. They mystery was solved with the second clue so that did drag on a bit for me and how she didn’t see the connection with her supposedly being a witch cop. The 3rd clue was a dead ringer then I just stuck with she is all power but not very bright.
Otherwise the FMC was brave, with a smart mouth that had great comebacks, and a heart of gold. The love interest was interesting but he did an odd character switch that felt disconnected and when the tension peaked we got a guilty heart moment. He probably should of worked that out prior to any advances.
I did love the found family and female friends. That was a delight to read. Overall a good fun light mystery with a dash of romance.

I don’t seek out romance protagonists over 30 to get that meatball head and Darien dynamic.

the reason this was a 3 star instead of a 4 star for me was the lead-up to a disappointing ending. Do not hit on this woman, pursue her, date her, and then when she is finally divorced and ready to date for real be like sorry can't be with anyone we shouldn't see each other except for professionally anymore. I would have castrated him. I honestly didn't like him much to begin with and then that. So I will not be continuing this because I have a feeling she is going to be pathetic and wait for him and make excuses for him and so on and I prefer to think of her getting her life back so it is her own like during the first half of this book.
