Seriously loveable cast, great pacing, albiet predictable ending. This story makes me want to pick up swimming again :(

lighthearted slow-paced
This is a very wholesome and gentle book about a local community coming together to save their lido. I enjoyed that it was centred around Kate and Rosemary’s friendship rather than your usual romance fiction.

The pace of the book is very slow though. There are a lot of chapters where the plot doesn’t move forward at all, it’s very heavy on description and often repetitive. There are a lot of minor characters mentioned regularly but we barely learn anything about them which was a shame. I also thought the main characters could’ve been more diverse considering the book is set in Brixton.
