This was a lovely book, showing the community of Brixton based around a lido. There was an inter generational theme to the book that was a nice read.

A bit slow in places but overall a lovely, heartfelt read which demonstrates the importance of community and friendships.

On page this book should deliver everything that I usually love, but it didn't. Overall it was extremely dull and the characters were one-dimensional. Additionally, I found the way the author included Rosemary's backstory was not well done. The short chapters and the constant change of POV's weren't helping. One chapter we are in the present with Kate and in the next one we are suddenly in the past with Rosemary and George. It was annoying to readjust every second chapter. For some reason other characters were sprinkled throughout the story, e.g. Ahmed learning for exams, the couple Frank and Jermaine, that one pregnant woman. I fail to see how there small cameos are relevant to the story

Me ha gustado bastante, pero me esperaba un poquito mas de esa historia ya que son casi 400 páginas. Pero el final era previsible y para una lectura de verano, en la piscina puede ser perfecta.
