Spoiler this book series keep getting better and better but I feel like this book was a little bit of a step down. It had so many strings and I hoped it would all pull in at the end but it just didn't. Like what where they trying to get out Wylie why did they try to kill Wylie why did they kill Wylies mom and Mr. Forkle's death was very unnecessary. The whole book was just kinda confusing, but over all it was good I hope the next one is better tho

The plot thickens. The characterization in this volume remained static. No one changed with maybe the exception of the Ogre King... but the plot focus and development became much more complex and enjoyable. If you are looking at this review then obviously you are reading all of this series and know that my review will not stop or prevent you in any way from reading. But it's worth reading. This is a solid MG series that is a bit more innocent yet fun take on MG and YA book topics.

You make it sound like nine years old is so grown up. You were just a kid. And you know what kids do? They trust their parents-even when part of them knows that something feels off-because our parents are our world.

Really enjoying this series! It is a good thing I have the next book with me because I gotta start it right now.
