Once again, loving the plot. However, the ending leaves me confused for Silas’s book and somewhat not looking forward to it. While I wish to see Silas’s healing journey, a character driven book usually tends to make me snooze.

The copycat was predictable unfortunately, but the scene in the office was 10/10. I love a protective MMC. Thatcher is unhinged and perfect.

Again though, skip all intimacy scenes… not worth reading.

"I'm not sure what our days will look like but I know they'll be better than anything I'd ever imagined for myself.
There is no dream, no goal, no hope.
It's just her.
Her dreams are mine. Her goals are mine. She is my hope.

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ Lyra
I love that Lyra stood up more for herself in this book because the obsession made me feel so pathetic 😭 but it's so valid (bc hello Thatcher?!) + made sense for them & their story. ALSO
the way Thatcher became more obsessed with her made it come full circle and was so satisfying. It's like receiving your favorite food after waiting so long and craving it. I couldn't take it if he didn't become as equally invested in her as she was in him and kept shutting her out. But we know how the story ends!!🙂‍↕️

She's my favorite
wittle killer 🤏 and the way she's just so protective of Thatcher like slay girl. Literally.
She's determined, strong, and loyal and I just love her for it. She was so unhinged in here and it was satisfying to see that side of her 🤭

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ Thatcher
This man is a poet and I'm so so glad he
continued to seek Lyra out and sees her as his 'equal'. I agree with Lyra that his dad made him into a killer and he deserves so much better.

I do love this man and he needs all the love. His vulnerability showed more here and I adored it so much. This is exactly what I wanted from him.

He really is THAT MAN! He'll always come through with his promises. 🙂‍↕️

 ·˚ ༘₊·꒰➳: ̗̀➛ Overall thoughts

Sometimes I found my mind wandering however I did enjoy the book for the most part. There are a lot of inner monologues which I mostly love because Monty captured and wrote it so beautifully. I was in awe every time it was Thatcher's POV and Monty digging into his mind, actually both of their minds.

I feel like their story could have been written in one book but I can see why it's split into two parts which I'm fine with. It's just a wondering thought.

However, they really grew on me and I love their story now 💞 their connection and history together is so complex and complicated but it's so beautiful and so them. I'm just in adoration of how Monty connected everything, especially for them.

And figuring out The Imitator was predictable but made sense. Also,
Thatcher visiting his father felt very anticlimactic but that's done with and we're moving forward.

This probably isn't a big issue for others but! The ick was given in some of the dialogues during the sex scenes (for me!). I just thought it was cringy and it started to get repetitive. Also, I couldn't really imagine, a character like Thatcher would say some of those things but we move. Don't come for me pls 😭

TW! Blood kink. It was mentioned in this book a couple of times and yes, there is a TW but every time I read it, I still cringe and.. yuck 🤮💀 but I digress.

Anyways they're both fucked up and sick but I love them sickos 😌

Thatcher, the man that you are 🫵

His character development was so perfect to his character. Ugh this man is just so 😻

The way he went from “I feel nothing” to “I feel EVERYTHING” for Lyra is JUST SO BEAUTIFUL.

Lyra really walked him like a dog and proved to him how wrong he was.

I love that in this book we got to see both of these characters grow into each other. The way that I strongly believe these 2 are soulmates in EVERY LIFE is telling.

I know I loved Sage and Rook but I think deep down, Thatch and Lyra take the win for me. I mean their entire relationship is so addictive and incredibly unique.

The notes that they left each other in Lyras books really had me folding, they TRULY get one another.

Although the imitator was predictable, I had a good time with this certain plot given how essential it was to these characters growth.

Cannot believe I’m reading Silas book next, I’m so close to finishing the series 😭

✨4.75 stars ✨
🌶️3 spice 🌶️

”I think I knew you in a past life. Do you think that’s crazy?”
“No, but me wanting to know you in every life after this one might be.”

I’m obsessed. I’m addicted.
I am absolutely in love with Lyra and Thatcher and this crazy, fucked up world they are living in.

For a killer, I really wasn’t expecting Thatcher to say the most swoon worthy things. I absolutely devoured this, especially when Thatcher started to have more layers peeled back and show vulnerability to Lyra.

I honestly think this might be one of my favourite dark romance series. I love all our main characters, the plot is addictive and mysterious, and the mmc’s are all twisted. I love it.

I’m gonna say this now, there is lots of blood and gore. But I am twisted and in love with the psychopaths so…read if you dare?

I love it clearly and am about to read the last book in the series so wish me luck!

Check TWs and CWs
Happy reading

Lyra+Thatcher <3

I really enjoyed being able to see their bond grow even more in this book. We actually got to see how Thatcher attempts to navigate these feelings for Lyra and THAT  was a ride on its own.

Something that really hit me in the heart was Lyra's unwavering faith in Thatcher. I was amazed honestly. It didn't matter what he said, she just always believed in him and I think that was exactly what he needed in a partner.

Overall, I loved reading their story. They were absolutely captivating and I couldn't get enough of them. They took me into their dark little world with them and now I don't think I want the bug girl or American psycho to let me go.

read my review of the first half of this duet (The Blood we Crave: Part One) to get an overview of my thoughts on the beginnings of thatcherlyra and the introduction of the plot in this part.

not gonna lie, the big bad villain and plot in this book was predictable. but it was written so well that i'm not too hung up on it.

The nightmare of Ponderosa Springs and his darling phantom.

and what happened throughout the story, and thatcherlyra's journey together, was so fucking good and keeps it as 5 stars.

favorite quotes:

I warned them what I would become if they took him from me. Now there is no need to fear the reaper. They should fear the woman who loves him.

I’ve felt his heart beneath my hands, committed the steady rhythm to memory, and I know it matches my own. It’s a pair, his and mine, created from the same flesh and muscle, cleaved into two separate bodies.

“Maybe I’d die for you, Thatcher Pierson,” I mumble. “But death is inevitable for us all. It’s what you’d do for me that matters.”

Thatcher was perfectly made, but I was made perfect for him.

“Darling.” He traces the front of his white teeth with his tongue, a starved animal ready to feast. “I’d rid the world of men who breathe the same air as you.”

“You taste like my favorite nightmare.”

I wish I could say that I don’t believe in fate, but if it was real, I think I would’ve been made for her too.

My lack of a soul wasn’t because of the evil that had infested my mother’s womb or my father’s corrupt DNA.
No, I didn’t have one because it belonged to her.

I think when we were created, instead of splitting our spirits in half, they gave both of them to her in order to keep them safe. To remind me, when the time was right, that all I am is hers to carry.

He is both their nightmare and my daydream.

This could’ve stayed only an obsession, but it had bloomed into something lovely and dark. A rosebush with twice as many thorns, but still breathtaking.

She is my obsessed angel, and I am her possessive god.

We are two halves of a broken hole. Two mangled people trying to find solace in all the darkness we’d been given.

If she wanted my heart, I’d give it to her. She could keep it on a shelf in one of her jars—it was never mine to begin with. Not when it’s always been hers.

“Death is trivial. He can’t keep you from me. I’ll follow you to the grave every time and find you in each life after.”

in the end, no thoughts just thatcherlyra ♡
