This series is AMAZING!!!! Love love love! This book is like your favorite action film with no holds barred violence, intrigue, and secret intelligence. Loved this follow up probably more than I liked Book one. I mean this one has Nazi’s and Unicorns! Easy 5/5 highly recommend!! Big shoutout to my beautiful friend @britt.m621 for recommending this series to me. It’s Fire !!

Loved. It. I couldn't put it down. I love Joe Ledger. I feel like such a fangirl lol. This book was absolutely fascinating to me. I have a lot of interest in the Holocaust and the way that one crazy persons (Hitler) thinking can destroy a nation, culture, and try to eliminate an entire race of people. I knew about a lot of the experiments they had done such as the effects of hyperthermia and that a lot of the research is was kept and the scientists given amnesty. Josef Mengele wasnt just crazy he really was evil. To have all these things come together in this book was good. A whole new generation will hopefully learn from the mistakes of the past. We should never forget.

First Thought when Finished: The Dragon Factory by Jonathan Maberry was wicked smart and brutally twisty.

Read It File It: I am in love with the Joe Ledger! There I said it. It is probably best to get that out there and acknowledged. During the Dragon Factory, I was biting my lip, clicking my nails against the desk, and closing my eyes as things got tense. These books are such intense rides and this one was a little heartbreaking. I recommend these to any one who enjoys a good mystery with a little bit of fringe!

Audio Thoughts:
Narrated by: Ray Porter /Length: 16 hrs and 11 mins

Going to admit that it took 2 books for me to fall in love with Ray's voice for Joe but now I adore it. Sometimes it just takes a bit and then it clicks!

Final Thoughts: Bring on Book 3!

I am falling in love with Jonathan Mayberry's writing style. I love his mix of science fiction and military tactics. I did not expect this book to be so different from Patient Zero in subject matter. Granted I see a lot of similarities and can see where the books can tie together later. I love the twists Mayberry throws at readers. The end was a shock, leaving me itching for the next book.

More balls-to-the-wall action with Joe Ledger. I actually was less interested in the main villains this time out. The secondary (?) villains were a tad more interesting as the genetically altered twins Hecate and Paris were actually much more interesting and a tad bit more nuanced than the big bad. I also like the transgenic monsters more than the doomsday plot.

I absolutely love Joe Ledger as a character! Honestly at this point I will read anything Jonathan Maberry writes because I have been so happy with his books. These have been just kick ass books, crazy characters, a mess of stuff going on that I don't even know at times what he is talking about or what one has to do with the other butttt when it all comes together it is so worth it and even if it didnt the Joe ledger character alone is fantastic to read.
