Mysterious stranger? Yes please!

Each installment of this series can be read as a complete story with themes running throughout. With this one that is particularly true as Tori is entirely removed from her three amigos to face down The Ghost on her own on his turf.
I adore Zak and his surliness, he makes this book. Alhough it seems like a random tangent from the main storyline, having read on, it's important to establish their relationship as separate to those established within the guild to prepare for later conflicts.
Witches, magic, mysterious strangers, kidnapped (or rescued) children, there is a lot in this one. It is nice to see Tori developing a tentative relationship with someone outside her trio, as we get to see a bit more of her impulsive, red hot temper and how she would navigate things on her own.

Still a fun series

I suspected the twist that came at the end of this one. I didn't know how Annette would pull it off and was pleasantly surprised. I'm still quite entertained by the whole series. The one lacking bit is the relationship angle. I didn't care for the direction it took but I'm interested to see what happens next.

Still really liking the slow reveals of back story I am jjst struggling with some of the awkwardness I have third hand embarrassment off fictional characters in made up situations

Choice is more powerful than fate

Loved this story. The action was fast paced. I find that Tori tends to be too nosy and a little self centered. It was a great and fun read.
