It was fine. I liked the spice, though there was some minor cringe moments.
But I would never stay in a strange Town with a man I had meet three days ago.

The siblings were a nice element I just felt like they were on pause the entire time they were off-page. It was like they were just chilling in the hotel room until Rita needed character development.

Not my favorite, but it was due more to some verbiage choices throughout than the plot overall. Cute story, less of a slow burn than TB's usual trajectory. There was quite a bit of space taken up by the other characters, which were clearly attempting to set up for the other novels in the series, and I think it just took away from Jasper and Rita's story and left it a little lacking in depth.

2.5*. The “romance” in this one was not for me (way too much emphasis on the sex and not enough romance). I did however love what we got about the Clarkson siblings, and wanting to know more about them. I curse myself because I’m probably going to have to read the rest of the series to get more of the full story about them and their interactions going forward. But yeah, the interactions between the MCs were just way too crude for my taste. Ymmv.

First half of the book was interesting, but the second half was the male protagonist saying the female protagonist’s name too often with not much plot. I like Tessa Bailey but I’m meh on this book / story.

I have really enjoyed the other Tessa Bailey books I've read but this one was not for me. It could just be the mood I'm in or maybe it's just the particular story itself, but usually with books that are more spicy/raunchy (no complaints here), I can suspend my belief a little. I just struggled to do so for this one and I really didn't care for the spicy scenes that much either. I think the only character I really liked was Sage and there wasn't a lot of her. I won't be continuing this series but definitely will still read Tessa Bailey in the future. I think her Hot & Hammered series was a huge improvement with plot development while still having spicy moments. :)

Tessa Bailey and her family of misfits took some time for me to warm up to but once it happened, I was all in. The Clarksons are a family that know what they want but lack the direction needed to get there. That guidance has always come from Miriam, the family matriach. Through the flubs she made and the love she gave, her teachings were the one constant in an ever changing world of heartaches and failure. She was the glue that held this faltering group together. Now they have too find the way on their own. With a little divine intervention. I received an ARC of Too Hot to Handle in exchange for an honest review. Rita had the heart to fulfill her dreams but lacked the confidence. Her life is quickly falling apart and she is losing herself piece by piece. Through memories, we get to explore her relationship with her mother and her personal development. I loved how Ms. Bailey wrote a tempting love story but she also explored the deeply emotional bond between a family. Through the good and bad.

This was not my fave Tessa Bailey book. I can’t quite pinpoint what felt off for me. I really wanted to love it like I’ve loved all the other Tessa Bailey books I’ve read. I think for me the fact that this was insta-love is what I didn’t like. I’m scared the rest of the books in this series will be the same because they’re all falling in love on a road trip but I do want to read them.
Another thing I didn’t like was the inner monologue of the characters was so confusing and not on par with their actions. So much back and forth it was frustrating. The sibling dynamics were a plus. More of the town and the grandma would have been nice to read too. I think the focus of this story was all the dirty talk and a lot more could have been done with this premise. I hope I like the next books more!
