Charlie is a human living in a world of vampires and half vampires known as the Ash. She has an intense dislike for the ash bordering on hatred for them but it's not without its reasons. The last thing she expected to happen was waking up as one of the guys she hated so much the first female Ash. Now forced into the world she doesn't want anything to do with she learns that she has to survive a series of fights for a right to live in the Hive.

The hive is overloaded with too many so they have the new ash fight it out in a culling of the weak. Survive the fights, you get a place in the hive and to live out your extremely long life. Since Charlie is the first of her kind a female Ash, which is unheard of and has never been heard of before. Her surprise existence has drawn the attention of the Quorum one particular vampire is intrigued by her. Will Charlie Survive the fights? What happens when they figure out she's not just an Ash?

I like Charlie a lot, she's a strong stubborn fighter when faces unimaginable odds rises to the challenge. I like Ryder he's the strong silent type but exactly what she needs when it comes to surviving her life in the Hive. The pair has an intense relationship as they both have issues. We've got some great close friends for Charlie as a support system Jayden, Tessa, the sex six. I'm not sure how I feel about Lucas but we will see how he plays out in the future books.

I've had this one on my kindle for far too long but haven't gotten around to it just yet. I read another book by this duo of authors falling in love with their writing style so I had to check out Ash. I love the vampire concept it takes on a whole new twist, with the hybrid Ash I found the story refreshing. The characters are easy to love, I found myself really connecting and investing in Charlie and liking her support friends. The authors have done a brilliant job creating a captivating story that inspires the imagination as well as sparks the heart. Ash is an action packed page turner that was hard to put down I wanted to know what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed Ash, looking forward to reading the rest of the series it's one of my new favorites. A must for fans of bad-ass heroines and vampires.

I'm so torn about the rating of this book. Part of me is thinking "Woo fantastic" another part thinks, shes super special & all I feel I see is shes lucky in fights and is in lust with a sexy superman.

I'm being a little harsh. A little. I like Charlie, she is pretty funny and her attitude makes me love her even more. I don't like the fact she is so dependent on Ryder, he tells her to jump and after she is done drooling she does. I get it, she is a young college girl that isn't that immune to a hot guy after all. Which is OK, I respect shes falling in love but can we not have a YA book or I'm sorry 'New-adult' book in fantasy where the girl (the main character) doesn't have to have a love interest, and is actually as bad ass as I'm being told.

She isn't a bad ass as such, I've read better kick ass girls and she isn't in my personal opinion on that par, yet. Shes super special, and without spoiling it I can't pick that apart, it would ruin it for some people. How ever she is special in terms of she isn't completely useless, she is pretty good at fighting once she gets started. Shes still female (I can't say human so forgive me I'm not being sexist) so she does have moments when she freaks out. I understand all that.

I enjoyed this book, I wasn't in that much of a hurry to read it, never been in the mood and I wasn't today but this book sucked me in and I'm glad I read it. There is so much potential in this series, this could go so many different directions I think I may stick around for the ride, especially since I'm reading this thanks to kindle unlimited...

Fast read!

I'm currently in between series right now, most of you bookworms know what I'm talking about, the writers can't produce them fast enough for us! :P I'm definitely a huge fan of Jaymin Eve's books so when I came across this I had to read it! I was not disappointed! I have already pre ordered the next book coming out later this month!

Charlie lives in a world of vampires and ash. Ash are the spawn of vampires having relations with humans. Charlie hates these creatures after being attacked by them, but she will have to learn to deal with them because she goes through the change. She becomes the first female Ash. She is different than the rest and she will have to fight for her life.

The characters in this book are badass! I enjoy the vampire/ash story line, definitely different from a lot of the other paranormal books I read which is refreshing! If you don't mind a little romance mixed in with you action packed adventure ( which I definitely do not, I always need a little bit ) , then you should definitely give this book a try!

Great quick read. This was a great way to spend a cloudy afternoon during Winter Break. Charlie like Neo (The Matrix) doesn't think she can hold her won. She learns fast when its a matter of losing her life. Love Jayden her new BAFF. He is a touch of saucy that is needed in this kind of kill or be killed short read.

3.5 ⭐️ I enjoyed the story line but i was tired of hearing everyone described as being super hot allllllll the time and the constant mention of her special unicorn blood. That being said I would read book 2

I wanted to like this book so badly but it was just unbelievably cringey. Everyone's a stereotype and/or predictable and every woman, except her mother obviously, was decided to be either a hormone-addled moron or a bitch by Charlie, the main character.
The authors clearly tried to incorporate the found family trope but it fell flat. The group that's supposed to be considered the main character's 'family' is constantly referred to as sexy (that seems to be Charlie's favourite word along with badass, effin, and totes) and are shallow stereotypes that Charlie barely has an actual conversation with on page, that's about as much as you learn about the members. You barely get time to remember who is who before Charlie is lamenting about how wonderful this new family of hers is.
The dialogue reads awkwardly and everyone seems to talk in paragraphs most of the time. Charlie is almost unbearable too with her edgy tomboy superiority, it's hard to enjoy a book when it's hard to even like the narrator.
If you had asked me to write a book as self-indulgently as possible as a 12 year old, this would have been it. Can't believe this is likely gonna be my last book for the year.
