Olivia and Zach meet in Italy and instantly fall in love. After a whirlwind romance, they become engaged. Both sets of parents are divorced, so the mothers are wary about their children's rapid engagement.
Now, it is time for all the parents to meet each other. But, there is a big surprise-Olivia's mother, June, and Zach's mother, Amy, were best friends in college-but are no longer talking. Why? Because Amy betrayed June.
The women's emotions get in the way of their children's happiness. Are they able to put the past behind them?
Easy read, awkward situation, but love prevails.

the PERFECT rom-com. heartfelt and warm, just the coziest little light read. i loved the pace, i loved watching this story unfold from the very first page. the main themes here were forgiveness, friendship, and healing. i was so pleased with this read- more than i ever imagined i couldve been!

This book proved a disappointment for me. One of the characters was a bit of a creep in my eyes (and no even a long lost love doesn't make that ok). Their child had no spine and in generell I thought all of them just whined a lot. The emotional side of it all felt too cheesy and the plot too much of a cliche. Sorry, that was just not my cup of tea.

This was a cute book, especially if you like books about wedding, planning t drama. I just felt that they were too many POV‘s – we follow the perspective of six people and then one more team randomly at the end. It was just too many perspectives. I didn’t know about me to connect with any of the characters. The storyline did keep me interested, but the ending felt drawn out. I loved all of the book references! I listen to this one on audio and felt the narrator did a good job but would’ve liked more distinction in the voices for the many different characters. Overall, it was a cute easy read.

This comedy of errors was the messy family wedding drama book I was just in the mood for!

Olivia and Zach meet in Italy, fall in love and quickly become engaged. The shoe drops though when they plan a dinner to tell their divorced parents only to discover his dad and her mom used to be engaged and their moms are ex best friends turned enemies.

What follows is a story of first love, second chances and rival mothers in this wedding wars-esque, hilarious story about all the ups and downs and twists we find ourselves on the path to true love. Great on audio and perfect for fans of books like Social engagement by Avery Carpenter Forrey.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for early digital and audio copies in exchange for my honest review. This is a great summer read, especially if you have a lot of weddings to attend.

Olivia meets Zach while on vacation on the Amalfi coast and after 6 weeks, they get engaged. Zach’s parents Amy and Troy were best friends with June as she was engaged to Troy but Amy became pregnant with Zach and unfortunately June severed both relationships.

Olivia, June’s daughter & Zach, Troy’s son are now engaged to be married making all of them in-laws. The twists and turns in this book have made me laugh & cry. I love all the characters especially Olivia and Zach.

I love Ms. Fenton & Ms. Steinke’s works & I highly recommend

Forever Hold Your Peace
by Liz Fenton; Lisa Steinke
Narrated by Nan McNamara

It's nice to listen to a story where I have no horse in the race, where I can just sit back and watch the shenanigans, laugh at the jokes, shake my head at the snark and shady behind the scenes manipulations. Even the two people (actually three people) who have the most anger and regret from the past don't seem to really have their heart in the fight.

Oliva and Zach meet while overseas, fall in love quickly, and come back to the states to tell their parents that they are getting married, soon. It is at the meet the parents and fiancés brunch that the parents, especially the mothers, find out they know each other very well, and one of the mothers had never planned to see the other again after their "break up" about twenty five years ago. Now the kids of these mothers are getting married! Let the "mother of the bride and mother of the groom" war games begin!

None of these people are over the top weirdos, what happened long ago could really happen, the story isn't too wild and crazy and it doesn't go too nutty with the revenge and one-upmanship. The story is sweet, kind of silly at times, not too stressful for this reader, and a nice change of pace in a relaxing (for me) way. Everyone is a grown up even if some of the grownups can have their snobby, rude moments. I'll certainly be reading this author duo again. The audiobook narration is very good and made listening to the story a breeze.
