I put off reading this book for the longest time only to regret I didn't read it sooner. As someone with Dyslexia and Autism, I felt seen in a lot of the characters. I never really feel too good about how my disabilities make me different from a lot of people, but this book and its diverse characters, made me feel so much better and that I can achieve so much more with them. (It did however make me sad I'm not a demi-god 😅)

I can wait to read the next installment and everything Rick Riordan has written.

I read this series years and years ago in Dutch, but I finally got myself the English versions last year and I was just in the mood to reread them. Plus the series is coming out next year, so I thought I would already start preparing. So, that's on my reading agenda for July.
Need I really give a review though? It's Percy Jackson, it's great, it's amazing, it's engaging and funny and fast paced without feeling rushed and all the characters are well done.
I'm remembering all of the feelings I had from when I first read these. Especially the way I secretly hoped I was a demigod too (as I'm sure we all did when reading the PJ series, don't lie).
But it's also fun discovering all the new things I'm noticing, like the fact that Percy has MAJOR bi vibes. His crush on Luke is almost as big as Annabeth's.
This is such a nostalgia trip for me and a nice break from the dense nonfiction book I'm also reading at the moment.

If you haven't read the Percy Jackson series, my dude, get on this RIGHT NOW.

I've always been a fan of this series, this is probably close to the fifth time I've re-read the first book and it always scratches the right itch in my brain. I'm a huge fan of Greek mythology and the world developed in this book.

I can't believe I only just recently got into this series, this is 100x better than the movies. (Though I think the movies are good on their own, disconnected to PJO). I found myself more in love with these characters than most other books about a 12 year old boy who is "the chosen one", I'm sure you know who I'm talking about.

I can't wait to continue reading about this world and I'm very certain I'm not going to be able to put down the books until I'm completely caught up!

I really enjoyed this book. The plot was good, the characters were adorable, the writing was enjoyable, and the monsters were good.
