Trying to keep track of some of the random childrens books I'm reading. The artwork by David Catrow is amazingly gorgeous (it's worth reading just to look at the awesome illustrations) and I'm sure kids will enjoy this spooky adaptation of Cinderella with skeletons!

Cinderella skeleton is new take on the classic Cinderella fairy tale. It takes place in Boneyard Acres. Cinderella skeleton is everything 'a ghoul should be' including yellow nails. Even though she gets worked to death by her evil stepsisters, Cinderella Skeleton still manages to go the ball and falls madly in love with the prince who she ends up marrying.

I would say this is for the older children to understand the humor that is in it.

I can picture the audience for this book:anyone who can appreciate the gory in this cute-but-gruesome version of Cinderella. In this book Cinderella does not lose a slipper, but her entire foot. Now imagine finding the right "footbone"!

Cinderella Skeleton is a ghoul in Boneyard Acres. She slaves away for her two evil stepsisters. The prince holds his annual Halloween ball, and with the help of a good witch, Cinderella Skeleton is transformed to the most beautiful ghoul and makes the prince fall in love with her.

This book is a good spin on the traditional story of Cinderella. I gave it 5 stars because I really enjoyed how they changed the traditional story to one using Halloween type characters and setting. The illustrations were perfect for the story and really enhanced the reading experience and made the story come to life.

I would use this book in my classroom to show children different versions of traditional stories. I would read it to them as a treat and afterwards ask them to compare how it is alike or different from the traditional story of Cinderella.

Cute story with a rhyming scheme in it. It was a bit above my kids heads but it had great descriptive language in it that can be used as a mentor text for many lessons.

Fantastic illustrations and rhyming text in this slightly warped retelling of the classic tale. Wonderfully dark in spirit.
