Enemies to friends to lovers, spicy Scottish story, family trauma/abuse
Not as good as the first one, way too long. Characters made dumb but realistic choices while working towards their relationship, can't be too mad about it. Still felt like the book could have easily ended at the halfway mark.
Really not a fan of how they portrayed alcoholism. Obviously there are lots of cases where addiction and physical abuse go hand in hand, but it feels cheap and one dimensional in this case. In fact both abusive parents are extremely one dimensional villains with no complexity to their characters whatsoever. Just feels like cruel depiction of abuse if you ask me. And a missed opportunity for more depth.
Graphic: Alcoholism, Sexual content, and Child abuse
Moderate: Violence, Injury/Injury detail, and Cursing
Minor: Cancer
