A bit too long and takes 1/3 of the book before it gets more exiting. Not the best in the series but Okay.

The book has a very interesting story, that doesn't miss anything.  I also liked the intertwining of the past with the present.

Lost half a star for the over-abundance of characters, the dead dog, and the classic misinterpretation of DID trope that seems to have popped up in every police procedural I've read this year
