One of the most interesting comics I've read in a while! I picked this up on a whim because the art caught me eye, but the plot sucked me in right away.

Don't get me wrong, the artwork is GORGEOUS, and there was a lot of potential for the plot to go beyond alien falls into the lap of Sam x3 (in a more cosmically sinister way), but this wasn't particularly my favorite. Samuel is the complete embodiment of an annoying teenage edgelord and kind of ruins the whole story with his 'I NEED to be heard because I AM the voice of the revolution' white savior attitude. I'm happy at least Samantha got a happy ending, even though I was heartbroken over Samir's story as well. I think this could've benefitted from having a few more issues to flesh out the story more.
Another thing is that I really don't like reading stutters (but that's a personal preference).

I wanted to like this high school super/alien powers tale but the focus on the different Sams felt a little imbalanced and I couldn't quite identify with the white cis Sam seemingly at the core of the story.

Ho. Ly. Shit. This one got to me. The art style is bombastic and the writing is tight and pulls at you so, so hard. I felt for each one of the Sams - I think we all have a little bit of each of them inside of us these days. I just wish that Boom Studios had let them swear. Kinda dulls the hit when three teenagers who find an alien can't say "fuck."
