This was probably my least favorite one of her books, but I still very much enjoyed it! I felt like the moments of struggle/pain were not very convincing.

Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie do an amazing job of fleshing out a story about a real Historical character. Martha Patsy Jefferson was forced at an early age to be her father's caretaker/ assistant/ hostess. She is the one who created the image of Thomas Jefferson that we know today by editing and organizing his papers after his death.
I listedn to this as an audio book and the narrator's wonderful Southern accent made the book come alive.

That was an undertaking. Phew. It has moments I enjoyed - such as when Patsy was in Paros. And moments I hated - such as all the the times she and her daughters were beaten by men (physically and emotionally). To be a woman at that time period - !
